Competitors’ new pages


For this insight, we only consider the pages your competitors started ranking for in the top 30 search results over the last month. Detecting these pages will help you keep up with major changes made by your competitors and discover new content strategy ideas. Note that only the pages not ranked in the previous month are considered for this insight. 

In the top right corner of the insight panel, you’ll see the total number of new insights in the category. If you are missing this category in the tool’s main section, it means no new insights were detected during the selected detection period. Try to set the detection period to "Last month" for the insight to appear. To check all detected insights, click the View All button.

How it works

All new competitor pages that started ranking in the top 30 of search results will be presented in one informative table. It contains the following information about each detected page for quick analysis: 

  • The page’s title and URL
  • The keyword with the highest traffic forecast
  • The volume of traffic that a keyword can get based on its current ranking positions and search volume
  • The total number of monthly searches for a specific term
  • The total number of keywords that the URL ranks for in its organic SERP
  • The search engine and country

All this information can be exported in an Excel or CSV file by clicking on the Export button at the top right corner of the table.

If you hover over a keyword in the first column (Title) and then click the three-dotted button, you will see a context menu with additional options for detailed analysis in Competitive Research and Keyword Research. Clicking one of those will take you to the respective tools, where you can check all the details on the keyword with the highest traffic forecast for the selected page. 

In the same context menu, you can add the keyword to your project or a new or existing list in Keyword Manager and return to it later. Keywords added to your project will be marked as “Tracked” in the table.

To get a list of suggestions explaining the necessary actions for keeping up with your competitors, click the “Recommendations” button, which is located in the right-hand corner above the table. These suggestions can be used as your original “to-do” list or as additions to your current optimization strategies.
