With Marketing Plan, we offer not only a streamlined approach to managing SEO tasks but also structured guidance on important aspects of optimization that includes the following seven categories:
- Introduction & Setup
- Technical SEO improvements
- Keyword and Competitor Research
- Content Audit & Creation
- On-page SEO
- Link building strategy
- Local SEO management
This step-by-step strategy is developed on the basis of the best SEO practices. The plan is helpful for newbies and pros alike. It offers 61 tasks, including the on- and off-site optimization sections, content development strategy, mobile optimization, and social media approach. You can follow our guidance or set your own tasks. The tool is efficient and flexible, allowing you to change task status and priority, add comments, and more.
How to use
After you open Marketing Plan for your project, you will see the main dashboard of the tool with a summary of your tasks (status and priority) and current plan progress. You can click the dropdown button to switch the widget into the visual mode.
All tasks in the Marketing Plan tool are divided into three tabs:
- By priority
- By category
- By statuses
By category
The tool uses the second tab with categories by default to present you with all the SEO tasks that we prepared and recommend completing. They are split into seven categories, from introduction and setup to local SEO management.
For each task here, you can set priorities and deadlines and assign the task to a specific person. If you think any particular task is not worth your attention, you can add it to the ignore list or delete it permanently via the context menu. The latter can be opened with a click on the three-dotted button on the right. Ignored tasks can be unignored later.
Each task has a brief description and usually comes with actionable recommendations that lead to other project tools or ask you to perform certain actions. For example, connect Google Search Console to your SE Ranking account or perform a website audit to find security-related issues. You can click the “Show details” button to open a comment section where you can specify various details for the task performer.
By priority
All tasks in this tab are divided into three groups depending on their priority, which you can set manually in each tab. Use the selector on the left to switch between your tasks with high, medium, or low priority. Other functionality is identical to the default tab.
By statuses
This tab allows you to quickly check on all your tasks in the Marketing Plan tool. For simplicity and convenience, we left just three statuses for tasks:
- To Do
- Done
- Ignored
All tasks created in the tool get the “To Do” status by default and are considered to be in progress. After completion, you just need to check the box near the task’s title, and its status will change to “Done.” The tasks you previously chose to ignore have their own section in this tab, where you can see them and unignore them if necessary by clicking the corresponding button.
Other functions
In addition to our SEO tasks, you can always create your own. To do that, click the “Add new task” button and specify task details.
Apart from the title, description, and details, you can select the category of the task and set its priority, status, due date, and assignee.
To navigate through massive task lists, we recommend using search and filtering features. After clicking on the filter button, you will be able to filter out tasks by their core parameters:
- Priority
- Status
- Category
- Assignee
- Due date
