Adding to a group
When adding keywords to projects, you can bucket them into groups to manage projects more efficiently. You can either add a keyword to an existing group or create a new one.
1. Before adding keywords, select the search engines to add them to. The keywords will be linked to the selected search engines, allowing the system to track them just on selected search engines.
NOTE: This functionality is only available to users with the latest versions of our subscription plans. Users with archived plans cannot see this field in the project wizard.
2. You can manually enter your keywords into the corresponding field, copy and paste them from a text editor, or via file import. For additional keyword options, you can enable suggestions and specify the domain to get ideas for.
3. You may either add the current keyword list to any existing group or create a new one.
4. When everything is set, click the “Add keywords to project” button.
You can also add keywords to a group from the Rankings module. In the rankings table, tick the checkboxes next to the keywords that you want to group together, then press the button in the upper menu and choose a group from the list or create a new one.
Deleting duplicates
If duplicate keywords are found in the project, the system will suggest removing them.
In case you manually add keyword duplicates, press the “Remove Duplicates” button, as shown below:
There are several reasons why your projects may contain keyword duplicates:
- Keywords were added from different sources. For example, they were imported from a file and added manually too;
- Some keywords were added earlier, but you decided to add them again by mistake.
Sorting keywords
To sort keyword groups in the project, click on the Settings icon in the Rankings module, then select Project settings → Keywords. Here, you can sort the keyword list order and also organize their contents using the action bar that appears after selecting one or more keywords.
From left to right on the screenshot above, the options are:
- Add to search engine
- Add keyword/keyword group target URL
- Add tags
- Add a note (hint)
- Move to the group
- Delete keyword/keyword group
To copy all your keywords from one search engine to another, use the first option in the list above. This is especially useful when you have added a new search engine for a different region and want to transfer all your existing keywords instead of adding them again. Here’s how to do it:
- Adjust the filter to display only the keywords you need
- Select them and click the Copy button
- In the next pop-up window, select where you want to copy them
