Availability: Google Data Studio integration is available on Core, Growth, and higher plans.
It is also available on Pro and higher legacy plans.

What data each report type returns
Step 1. Authorize the connector
- Open the SE Ranking Rank Tracker connector.
- Under "Data Studio requires authorization to use this community connector", click Authorize and choose your Google account.
- Under "SE Ranking Rank Tracker requires authorization to connect to data", click Authorize and sign in to SE Ranking.
You only need to do this once.
Step 2. Choose the report type
- In Report Type, choose the data you need. See Available report types below.
- Click Next.
Step 3. Choose the project
- In Project, choose an SE Ranking project.
- Click Next.
Step 4. Set the optional filters and connect
You can narrow the data with these optional fields. Leave a field empty to get all the data for the project.
- Search Engine ID – the ID of one search engine in your project. Enter only the number, for example 3295873. See How to find the Search Engine ID.
- Keyword Group – the name of one keyword group, for example Templates.
- Keyword Tags – one or more tags separated by commas, for example proposal. If you add more than one tag, you only get keywords that have all of them.
- Keyword – one keyword, written exactly as it is in your project.
Note: Keyword Group, Keyword Tags, and Keyword work only with Rankings and Competitors report types. AI search, Website Audit, and Backlinks reports ignore them.
You can find keyword groups and tags in your project's Rankings → Detailed report in SE Ranking.
When the fields are ready:
- Optionally, select Allow "…" to be modified in reports next to a field. This lets report editors change the value from the report without editing the data source.
- Keep Use report template for new reports selected if you want to start from SE Ranking's ready-made report.
- Click Connect in the upper-right corner. If you're editing an existing data source, click Reconnect.
Step 5. Create a report
- On the data source page, click Create Report.
- In the popup, click Create Report to confirm.
Your report opens with the SE Ranking template. You can work with it right away:
- Change the date range to see data for a different period.
- Switch the search engine to compare rankings across tracked engines.
- Drag fields from the Data panel to the canvas to add new charts or tables.
To add another report type, create a new data source and repeat these steps.
How to find the Search Engine ID
The Search Engine ID is not your project ID (site_id). The project ID points to the whole project, and the Search Engine ID points to one search engine inside it, for example Google USA. If you enter the project ID, the filter won't work: you'll get data for all search engines or an empty report, with no error.
You can find the ID in one of three ways.
Option 1. On the Rankings page
- Open your project's Rankings → Detailed page.
- In the search engine selector, choose the search engine you need.
- Click the address bar to see the full link and copy only the number after
site_se_id=. For example, in…&site_se_id=3295873the ID is 3295873.
Note: If your project tracks only one search engine, the selector may not show it. Click the gear icon, open Ranking settings, turn on Show all search engines data, and click Apply. Then choose All search engines in the selector and switch back to your search engine.
Option 2. In the SERP Competitors report
Here the ID is always in the link, even for projects with one search engine.
- Go to My Competitors → SERP Competitors.
- Check that the search engine you need is selected.
- Copy only the number after
site_se_id=in the address bar.
Option 3. With the API or MCP
-
API: send
GET /sites/{site_id}/search-engineswith your project ID and copy thesite_engine_idvalue. Don't usesearch_engine_id— it's the general engine type (for example, google.com), not your project's search engine. - MCP: if you've connected SE Ranking to an AI assistant through MCP, you can ask: "Show the search engines in my project [project name] with their site_engine_id."
Available report types
You can choose one of these report types for each data source.
Note: Report types marked "(Deprecated)" are no longer updated. Use AIRT — Overall Performance in AI Search instead.
What data each report type returns
The connector doesn't run new checks. It shows the data SE Ranking already has for the date range you choose in your report. New data appears after SE Ranking finishes a check, audit, or backlink update.
- Rankings Overview – positions from the latest check in your date range only. It doesn't show position history. For history, use Detailed Rankings or a chart report type.
- Detailed Rankings – positions from every check in your date range.
- Rankings charts (Average Rankings, Traffic Forecast, Search Visibility, % In TOP 10) – a value for each check date in your date range.
- Competitors – data from every check in your date range for the competitors you added.
- AIRT — Overall Performance in AI Search – data from every prompt check in your date range. Summary cards compare the last check with the first one.
- Site Audit Reports History – every finished audit in your date range. Site Audit Issues and Core Web Vitals – the latest finished audit in your date range only.
- Backlink Checker Overview – current data, not history. Backlink Checker Chart – total, new, and lost backlinks for each day, up to the date the backlink report was created.
Data Studio can also cache data for a while, so numbers may differ slightly from SE Ranking.
