How to connect SE Ranking MCP to Gemini Spark – Knowledge Base

SE Ranking MCP gives you access to live SEO and AI search data in Gemini Spark through plain-language prompts.

It connects as a custom app with no coding or local installation required.

Note: Gemini Spark and custom connected apps are currently in beta and have limited availability.

Custom connected apps are currently available only in English on the Gemini web app and mobile app. For current requirements, see Google’s guide to connecting custom apps to Gemini Spark.

In the Add a custom app link field, enter: https://api.seranking.com/mcp
Leave Advanced Settings unchanged.
Click Next.
Review the permissions requested by Gemini.
Select I understand and accept the security and privacy risks of connecting this custom app.
Click Allow.

Note: Gemini requires security consent and Google Account linking before SE Ranking authorization.

Link your Google Account to the SE Ranking custom app.

The permissions allow Gemini to:

Choose an authorization method:

For the recommended option:

Gemini uses data and API credits from the connected account.

Gemini opens the Save your custom app window.

You don’t need to select functions individually.

Create a new task in Gemini Spark and enter:

Example: "Show me the organic and paid search stats for seranking.com across all countries. Use SE Ranking MCP."

Gemini should use SE Ranking MCP and return organic and paid search metrics.

SE Ranking MCP requests use API credits. Available functions may change as new tools are added.

Issue	Resolution
I don’t see “Custom apps for Spark”	Check eligibility and account requirements in Google’s official documentation. Access may not yet be available for your account.
Gemini can’t connect to the MCP server	Make sure the full URL is entered without extra spaces: `https://api.seranking.com/mcp` If the error continues, remove the app and reconnect.
Gemini uses the wrong SE Ranking account	Remove the app and reconnect while signed in to the correct SE Ranking account.
Gemini doesn’t use SE Ranking for my request	Add this instruction to your prompt: `Use SE Ranking MCP.`
The query returns an API credit error	Check that the connected account has available API credits. MCP uses credits from your subscription or pay-as-you-go API plan.
