How to use AI Results Tracker

After selecting a project and opening our AI Results Tracker, you will be able to analyze AI results. This includes viewing the historical data and dynamics of your positions, tracking your website’s position within AI snippets, and checking if your website is currently featured in AI snippets. All these features are available in the two subsections of the tool – AI Rankings and AI SERP Competitors.

AI Rankings

This is the default subsection of our AI Rank Tracker. It opens after you select a project to work with. Here, you can find detailed information on the keywords analyzed in the AI Results Tracker tool and the website positions in the AI Overviews for these keywords.

Start by selecting the keywords for analysis and search engines to track. To do that, click the corresponding button at the top right corner of the page. It will open the following menu with selectable keywords and search engines:

The keywords are presented in a table along with their search volume, intent, and search engine. This helps you pick the ones that interest you most. The tool will automatically calculate your keyword limit after you confirm your choice.

Exclamation_pointKeyword limit usage is calculated as the number of combinations of keywords and search engines ("targets"), total across all your projects.

Depending on how many keywords you select, the time taken to process and analyze their core AI results parameters will vary. These include AI Overview presence and Organic-AI overlap.

AI Overview presence

This metric shows how many of your keywords have an AI overview and how many keywords have an AI overview linking to your website. The information and dynamics are presented as a chart with two toggleable parameters: AI Overview presence and Website presence in AIO.

AI-Rankings-EN-2

You can select a period for data display – from 7 days to 12 months – and also group it by days, weeks, and months (depending on the selected display format).

Organic overlap

This metric also lets you check the share and total number of URLs from the organic Top 20 that are present in the AI overview. The chart shows the average values across keywords for which an AI overview is present.

In the screenshot above, the Organic-AI Overlap is 5, meaning that five links, on average, appear in both organic search results and AI Overviews. This metric is also displayed for each keyword in the table below the chart.

Analyzed keywords

The data provided by the tool’s analysis of your selected keywords is presented neatly in the table on the same page. The table is similar to our original Rankings but only for AI results. It contains the AI Overview status for each keyword (detected or not detected), search intent, search volume, and Organic-AI Overlap.

Ranking colors mean the following:

  • Green – the keyword is in the Top 3
  • Blue – the keyword has entered AIO
  • Red – the keyword has left AIO

You can click on any cell in the table to see detailed information about the keyword on any available date. A pop-up window will appear containing a summary with the selected keyword, the analysis date, and the URL by which your site was linked in the AI results. It also provides links to:

  • Live results – the real-time results for this keyword in the specified search engine based on the selected region.
  • Cached copy – the cached version of the SERP for this keyword for this particular date.
  • AI SERP Competitors – another section of the AI Results Tracker tool.

From the same context menu, you can go directly to Google to see current live results.

AI SERP Competitors

This subsection tracks and analyzes AI search results for the keywords you select. You can monitor if AI results are present, view their content, the links provided in them, and more.

Use the drop-down list to select the keywords with AIO results and view their positions and dynamics. Check the “AI overview” box to filter the list and show only keywords with detected AI presence.

The rankings in this subsection of the tool are split into two categories: AI overview links and Top 20 organic results. You can click the three-dotted button near any competitor from the list and proceed to research their domain in Competitive Research or analyze their domain from our On-Page SEO Checker.
