Understanding the Rankings table
Insights & recommendations
The Rankings tab displays how often your brand or website is mentioned in AI-generated results.
Check here for:
- Top 3 Presence: Share of AI answers where your mention or link shows up in the top three results.
- Source Presence: Share of answers containing at least one source link.
- Mention & Link Presence chart: Daily or monthly visibility trends.
Please note: The Organic–AI Overlap metric is available only for AI Overviews.
Organic–AI Overlap shows how many unique URLs are shared between the AI Overview and the top 20 organic results for the same keyword. It is a per-result count of matching URLs, not a measure of how often your domain appears.
How Organic–AI Overlap is calculated
For each tracked keyword or prompt, SE Ranking compares the source URLs cited in the Google AI Overview against the top 20 organic URLs for the same keyword. Duplicate AI Overview URLs are removed first, so only unique matching URLs are counted — the raw value is always a whole number between 0 and 20.
- The percentage uses a fixed denominator of 20: overlap % = matching URLs ÷ 20 × 100. For example, 6 matching URLs = 30%.
- If a date had no AI Overview for that keyword, the overlap value is empty rather than 0. This keeps "no AI Overview existed" separate from "an AI Overview existed but shared no URLs".
- In aggregated views, overlap is averaged across your tracked prompts for each date (then rounded) — values are not added up.
- The overlap chart plots the trend by date. The statistics widget shows a single change value calculated from the first and last date of the selected range only, so it can differ from what the chart shows in between.

If you've just opened the AI Results Tracker and see no data, add AI search engines and prompts to your project first. These determine what queries (prompts) SE Ranking will monitor and in which AI systems. Here's the guide on how to do that: Setting up a project for AI Results Tracker
Once it's done, the system will start collecting data, and your results will appear in the Rankings tab in the next update cycle.
Please note: Your prompt (check) limit is shared account-wide across all projects — it is not counted separately per project.
To see the total number of prompts currently in use across your account, check the Prompts column in the All projects dashboard.
Open the Rankings tab
Once your prompts are added and data is collected:
- Go back to Projects > AI Results Tracker > Rankings.
- Choose your AI platform and date range at the top of the screen.
Understanding the Rankings table
The table summarizes your brand's visibility in AI-generated answers for each tracked prompt.
If you organized your prompts into groups during project setup, the Rankings table lets you filter by group so you can focus on a single topic, campaign, or theme at a time. See Setting up a project for AI Results Tracker for how to import or build groups.
| Prompt | The query or topic you're tracking. |
| URL | Displays your tracked page. A blue link icon opens the cached AI answer where your domain was mentioned or linked. |
| Mention | Shows whether your brand was mentioned in the AI-generated text (even without a link). |
| Link | Displays if your page was linked in the AI answer and in which position. |
| Cells (green) | Indicate your brand's link or mention was found in that position. |
| Cells (blue) | Represent competitor links appearing in the AI result. |
| Grey "No AIO" | The prompt didn't trigger any AI Overviews on Google. |
| Arrows (▲/▼) | Indicate visibility changes compared to the previous check. Green arrows mean an improvement; red arrows show a drop. |
You can click on any number in the Mention or Link columns to view additional details, such as cached copies or ranking changes.
