The Competitors tab shows which brands or domains appear next to yours in AI-generated answers for your tracked prompts.
You can analyze how often your website is mentioned, how it ranks compared to others, and which domains consistently appear across various AI engines.
This helps you:
- Identify new competitors gaining AI visibility.
- See which brands dominate specific AI queries.
- Track how your position changes over time for each prompt.
How it works
- Open Projects > AI Results Tracker > Competitors.
- Choose your project, AI engine, and date range at the top.
- Pick the prompt you want to analyze from the dropdown list.
Each analyzed prompt displays a timeline of daily AI answers with your (and your competitors’) domain that appeared in those responses.
Understanding the metrics in Competitors
Each column represents one date within your selected range. In every date column, you’ll see two main sections:
| AI mentions | Shows which brands were mentioned by name in the AI-generated answer (even if not linked). Your brand is highlighted in color. |
| AI source links | Lists domains or URLs used as sources in the AI answer. The numbers (1, 2, 3…) indicate the order in which the AI listed them. |
Quick actions
Hover over any listed domain in the AI source links section to open quick actions:
- Research domain: Opens SE Ranking’s Domain Research tool for that competitor.
- Analyze domain: Opens Competitive Research for deeper insights.
- Open URL: Opens the original page used by AI as a source.
- Copy URL: Copies the link to clipboard for outreach or saving.
Cached copy
Each date column includes a Cached copy link that lets you open the AI-generated answer for that specific prompt and day. Use it to review how your brand or competitor was mentioned, which sources were linked, and what wording the AI used.
Exporting competitor data
You can export all competitor results for your selected prompt and date range by clicking Export in the top-right corner. The export includes all daily snapshots, mentions, and links used in AI answers.
