This guide shows you how to connect SE Ranking and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to Claude, then use a single prompt to build a live, interactive dashboard. You can refresh it any time, export it as a PDF, or reuse the same prompt for any domain.
The full setup takes about 15 minutes.
Getting started
Step 1: Connect SE Ranking MCP
Step 2: Connect SE Ranking SEO Skills
Step 3: Run the dashboard prompt
Step 4: Create a Live Artifact
Getting started
Before you start, you'll need three things:
- A Claude account.
-
SE Ranking API access. You’ll need API credits to pull data into Claude.
New users: Start a free 14-day trial with 100,000 API credits — enough to complete this workflow.
Existing customers: All paid plans include API credits, which are sufficient to connect MCP and build dashboards. - A GA4 property that you have viewer access to (or higher).
If you need more credits to test our MCP, please contact us at mcp@seranking.com.
Step 1: Connect SE Ranking to Claude
In this step, you'll add SE Ranking as a custom connector in Claude. Once it's connected, Claude can pull live data directly from your account.
- In Claude, open Customize > Connectors.
- Click the + button and choose Add custom connector.
- Fill in the details:
- Name: SE Ranking
- Remote MCP server URL: https://api.seranking.com/mcp
- Click Add. SE Ranking will now show up under Not connected.
- Click SE Ranking and then Connect to sign in and authorize.
That's it. Claude can now access your SE Ranking data.
Step 2: Connect SE Ranking SEO Skills to Claude
https://github.com/seranking/seo-skills
A skill is a reusable recipe — built once, runs the same way every time.
- Open Customize in the sidebar. (Plugins are available in Claude Cowork or Claude Code)
- Click Personal plugin → + Create plugin.
- Click Add marketplace and enter: seranking/seo-skills
That's it — now you can access 24 SEO workflows in one install. Trigger a skill by typing its name, like /seo-content-brief, or just describe what you want and Claude will pick the right skill automatically.
Install once, then use the skills in every chat after that.
Step 3: Run a dashboard prompt
Use the seo-google skill in AI Chat to retrieve data from Google Analytics, then use the prompt below to build your dashboard.
Step 1: Customize the prompt
Before sending the prompt, replace all values in [square brackets] with your own details.
Step 2: Send the prompt
Paste your customized prompt into a new Claude chat and send it.
Claude will call SE Ranking and GA4 one after another, then generate your dashboard.
Prompt — AI Search Visibility Dashboard
Copy the prompt, then replace the highlighted items with your own details.
# AI Search Attribution Dashboard For [domain] in the Google US database, audit our AI search visibility. From SE Ranking: 1. First, identify our top 5 organic competitors for this domain in this market, and our top 50 highest-traffic keywords — these define the categories we should be visible in. 2. Pull [domain] overall AI search performance: which engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overview) mention us, how often, and on which topics. Are we cited as a source or only mentioned in passing? 3. Run a head-to-head AI leaderboard against the 5 competitors you just identified, focused on the topic clusters tied to our top keywords. Who gets cited most? Which prompts surface a competitor but never us? From GA4: 4. Pull the last 90 days of sessions from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and Deepseek— by source and landing page. Compare to the prior 90 days. Synthesize: Where are we cited, where are competitors winning, and which 3 pages should we update first to earn AI citations? For each, name the prompt we're losing, the competitor cited instead, and the specific gap to close.
Step 4: Live Artifact
You can also create a Live Artifact — a live, interactive dashboard that you can refresh anytime to see the latest data.
You can build it using SE Ranking data right away.
If you’d like to include GA4 data as well, you’ll need to connect a separate GA4 MCP first.
Google’s official guide for setting up the GA4 MCP:
developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/MCP
After the setup is complete, simply use the same prompt as above to generate your Live Artifact.
What's next
A few ways to get more out of this setup:
- Tweak the prompts. Add new engines, change time ranges, or swap competitors to match how you report.
- Combine with other connectors. Pair SE Ranking with Slack, Notion, or Google Drive to push dashboards directly into your team's workflow.
- Explore more SE Ranking tools. Browse the full list of MCP tools to see every data point you can pull into Claude.
