Turn SEO research into a social campaign#

SE RankingPlanable

Best for: SEO specialists, AI-search specialists, and agency marketers.

What it does

Turn the SEO research you already run — competitor keyword gaps, ranking losses, topic opportunities, and real search questions — into ready-to-review social posts.

In short: find the opportunity in SE Ranking → turn it into a campaign → draft the posts in Planable.

Why it's useful

Instead of leaving SEO insights in a report, you can immediately turn them into content.

This helps you:

  • turn keyword gaps into social topics;
  • create multiple posts from one research session;
  • respond faster when competitors gain visibility;
  • base social content on real search demand rather than guesswork.

Example uses

Competitor response

"Competitor X is outranking us for Y. Find the biggest gaps and draft five LinkedIn posts around them."

Question-led campaign

"Find the questions people ask about local SEO and turn them into a LinkedIn series."

Monthly content

"Use our strongest keyword opportunities to create 10 social posts for this month."

What you need

Target domain and country Planable workspace Optional competitor domains Optional number of posts

What you get

  • Prioritized topics and keywords
  • Recommended post angles
  • Channel-specific drafts
  • Planable draft links

Main benefit: your SEO research becomes content you can actually distribute.

Turn AI visibility gaps into content#

SE RankingPlanable

Best for: SEO, AEO/GEO, AI-search, and agency teams.

What it does

Find the prompts where competitors appear in AI answers and your brand does not, then turn those gaps into a targeted content campaign.

In short: identify missing prompts → group them into topics → create content around them → track the results over time.

Why it's useful

AI visibility tracking shows you where you are missing. This workflow helps you decide what to do next.

You can:

  • turn missing prompts into content ideas;
  • target topics competitors currently own;
  • create FAQ, comparison, definition, and educational content;
  • build a repeatable measure → create → measure workflow.

Example uses

Find missing prompts

"Find the most important prompts where our competitors appear and we don't, then draft a LinkedIn campaign around them."

Reclaim a topic

"Where is Competitor X beating us in ChatGPT answers around AI rank tracking? Create content ideas to strengthen our presence."

Focus on one engine

"Compare us with Competitors Y and Z in Perplexity and find the biggest content gaps."

What you need

Domain and brand name Country Competitor brands/domains Planable workspace Optional AI engines to focus on

What you get

  • AI-visibility snapshot
  • Owned, contested, and missing prompt groups
  • Prioritized content opportunities
  • Social drafts in Planable
  • A plan for measuring the same prompts later

Main benefit: AI visibility reporting becomes an actionable content plan.

See your search, AI, and social footprint together#

SE RankingPlanable

Best for: SEO, AI-search, multi-channel, and agency teams.

What it does

Compare performance by topic across:

  • organic search;
  • AI answers;
  • social content.

This is an analysis, not a side-by-side report: each topic is sorted into a state, and every state points to the use case that acts on it.

In short: line up the data → sort topics into states → route each state to the workflow that fixes it.

The topic states

Looking at channels separately can hide good opportunities. Every topic lands in one of these states:

  • Present in all three → double down; the topic is already carrying you.
  • Ranks, but no social → distribute it. Route to Use case 1.
  • Missing from AI answers → close the citation gap. Route to Use case 2.
  • Used to rank, dropped out of the top 10 → refresh the existing page. Route to Use case 4.
  • Social only → investigate the search opportunity behind a topic your audience already engages with.
  • Competitor strong in one channel only → look for an opening.

Example uses

Find distribution gaps

"Show me topics where we rank well but have weak social performance."

Find SEO opportunities

"Which of our strongest social topics have little search visibility?"

Find competitor gaps

"Where is Competitor X strong in AI answers but weak in search or social?"

What it needs

Search and AI data from SE Ranking Social performance from Planable Optional competitor data Optional GA4 data

What you get

  • Cross-channel topic map
  • Every topic sorted into one state
  • Prioritized gaps
  • A route from each state to the use case that acts on it
  • Competitor opportunities

Main benefit: topics are classified, not just counted — so the output tells you which workflow to run next.

Recover lost rankings automatically#

SE RankingGoogle DriveSlack

Best for: content teams, SEO specialists, and agencies running a regular content refresh cycle.

Community use case. This workflow was built and shared by Maddy Osman, Sr. Content Marketing Manager at DigitalOcean and Founder of The Blogsmith. The brief is built with SE Ranking's seo-content-brief skill, which the author combined with her own SEO brief template.

What it does

This is a scheduled task in Claude Cowork. You set it up once, and it runs every week on its own.

Each week it looks for the keyword where a ranking drop cost you the most traffic, compares your page with the pages that now rank above it, and prepares a content brief that explains what to update. The brief is saved as a Google Doc and announced in Slack, so your team can start working on the page without doing the research first.

How it works

Detect losses SE Ranking MCP finds ranking drops
Estimate impact Calculate lost traffic and value
Audit URL Analyze the current page and its issues
Keyword research Run updated keyword analysis
Prepare brief Fill out the SEO content brief template

Every step runs on schedule — no manual work in between.

How to set it up

  1. Connect the SE Ranking MCP to your AI assistant.
  2. Check that your SE Ranking project has tracked keywords with at least a few weeks of position history.
  3. Add the seo-content-brief skill: get it on GitHub.
  4. Connect Google Drive and Slack — or wherever you want the brief to land.
  5. Download the instruction below and fill in your own values.
  6. Create a scheduled task, paste the instruction, and set it to run weekly. Allow its tools up front so it can run unattended.
  7. Run it once manually and check the output.

What you need

An SE Ranking project with tracked keywords and position history Target domain and country Google Drive connected Slack channel for delivery The seo-content-brief skill Optional weekly schedule

What you get

Refreshing a page that already has history is usually faster and cheaper than writing a new one. The hard part is deciding which page and knowing exactly what to change — that is what the brief answers:

  • The single highest-impact ranking loss of the week, prioritized by lost traffic rather than by position alone
  • Old vs current position and estimated traffic lost
  • A diagnosis of why the page likely dropped
  • Refreshed keyword and SERP research
  • A prioritized update checklist for the existing page, instead of "this page needs a refresh"
  • A full brief as a Google Doc, announced in Slack
  • A coverage check that stops the same keyword being briefed twice

Main benefit: ranking losses stop being a chart you look at and become a weekly refresh queue your writers can work from.
