A project is how SE Visible tracks one brand in one location. You will need your brand name, your website, and the country you want to track — everything else can be changed later.
Setup takes four steps and about two minutes, and the first results arrive a minute after that.

Step 2: Topics
Topics are the themes you want to monitor. They decide which prompts get generated, so they shape everything you see later.

Step 3: Competitors
SE Visible detects the brands appearing alongside yours in AI answers and adds them as a ready-made group — every suggestion arrives pre-selected, with its icon and domain.

Step 4: AI Engines
Choose which engines' answers should be analyzed for this project: ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode, Gemini, and Perplexity.
Switch on the ones you want, then select Run analysis.
What happens next
You land on the Dashboard while the first scan runs. A progress banner shows how far along it is, and results load as answers arrive rather than all at once. It usually takes about a minute.
Why comparison looks empty at first
SE Visible compares against data it has already collected, so a brand-new project has no history yet. Pick a date range from before the project existed and you will see a message saying no checks were performed for that period. This is expected, not an error — after a few days of checks, change indicators appear on every metric.
Brand aliases
AI engines rarely stick to one version of a brand name. The same answer might use your full name, an abbreviation, or a product name — and unless SE Visible knows those all mean you, those mentions would not be counted.
Aliases group those variants under one brand. SE Visible detects likely ones automatically and suggests them for you to review.
A confirmed alias counts everywhere — Visibility, Share of Voice, average position, sentiment, and brand mentions on sources. Rejecting one that AI engines genuinely use does the opposite: your numbers will understate how visible you really are.
Aliases are not part of the setup wizard. They live on the tag icon of a brand card in Settings → Project → Brands, for your own brand and for each tracked competitor. Reviewing them shortly after setup is worth the two minutes — it is the most common reason a project's visibility looks lower than it should.
Change your setup later
Nothing you chose in the wizard is permanent. Open Settings → Project and pick the tab that matches what you want to change.
- General — rename the project, or delete it. Deleting also removes its entire visibility history.
- Brands — manage aliases, add or remove tracked competitors, and browse suggested ones with their mention counts.
- AI Engines — add or remove engines for this project.
- Tracking frequency — switch between daily and weekly checks. Weekly uses your allowance more slowly.
Topics and prompts are managed from the Prompts view rather than in settings.
